A Prayer Strategy For Australia

I am going to step out on a limb here and talk about a very touchy subject but ….. there will be no judgement or criticism, just some thoughts about what I believe the Lord is showing me. It is a bit long so please bear with me.

Here in Australia, Believers and ‘Soon-to-be’ Believers are under great pressure to bow down to the falsehoods and deceitful schemes of our enemy, the devil – namely marriage equality. It greatly concerns me and grieves my heart that it will be Believers who will be so discriminated against in the western world. In the United Kingdom and in other western countries, governments have realised that the only way to enforce same-sex marriage is by forcing ministers to marry homosexual couples. If a minister refuses, he could be fined and banned from his work. I have already had people say to me that it is a human right for them to be married. Yes it is but it is also our human right to disagree – a concept that is more than frowned upon by some.

We are losing our right to even have an opinion that is contrary to those with the loudest voices. We must stand together in agreement with prayer.

This is a very serious time in history as the ramifications of this forthcoming decision are not yet fully known – especially to our children and grandchildren.

But please hear me when I say this: THERE IS HOPE and we are NOT to judge the people for what is going on, we are called to love them. However, that does not mean that we are to agree with them, but we are to speak of them and treat them as God’s creation. Always remember that it is NOT against flesh and blood that we war, but principalities and the powers of darkness in the supernatural realm, (Ephesians 6:12) and in my Bible, Jesus is the greatest force against these powers.

There Was A Dream

Someone relayed a dream to me that they had been given by God. The Bible is full of symbolisms hence why dreams usually are also. In this person’s dream, there was a door that a huge snake (representing Satan) was pushing against. The devil himself is trying to stay hidden, to hide the fact that same-sex marriage is a scheme that comes straight from him. Another male character was dressed in a rainbow dress and a rainbow sunhat. Satan has dressed the homosexual issue as a ‘good’ issue and a freedom of choice as a basic human right (which it is) BUT that there are no consequences to those choices (which there are).

This is a ‘feelings’ issue.

As I was praying about it, I felt the Lord say, “This is a ‘feelings’ issue.” This is an EXTREMELY dangerous place to be. There is much evidence in the Bible as well as in the world today of events and consequences that have occurred because someone ‘felt’ like it. Drive by shootings happen because people get angry and ‘feel’ like taking matters into their own hands. Adultery happens because a person ‘feels’ that someone, other than their spouse, ‘understands them better’. Debt and theft can occur because a person ‘feels’ that they can’t wait until they have enough money to buy the things that they can’t do without.

Keep in mind that God will not judge these actions as yet (Revelation 20:11-12). As far as I understand, judgement does not come until the actual ‘Day of Judgement‘ so may I urge you not to be asking God to rain down judgement on the land, whichever way the decision goes. Jesus rebuked the disciples for wanting to call down fire on the Samaritans who wouldn’t accept Jesus into their city (Luke 9:53-55). We are not to call down judgement, we are to call down mercy and salvation.

God is not angry at people who practise homosexuality. It saddens His heart greatly because it is not the best that He has planned for them. The people are not living their best life. God has so much more for them than they realise. Jesus died and rose again for them and loves them desperately.

Back to the dream. An army of ten was called to come and fight against the snake. However, only two came. Does this sound familiar? Remember in Numbers 13, how the ten spies were sent out but only two came back with a good report? To me this indicates that victory can indeed be ours. The two spies said in essence, “Let’s go at once to take the land, we can certainly conquer it!” If we agree and join together in the Spirit, victory can be ours!

Will you stand up and be counted with the two today?

I am not asking you to roam the streets and yell from the rooftops, “Vote NO”. What I am asking you is to go into your prayer closet, close the door and ask the Lord God of Heaven and Earth to intervene in this situation. May His will be done on earth as it is in Heaven. Apart from at the time of creation itself, I cannot find an example in the Bible where God acted without someone praying first. We need to join WITH Heaven and seek the Lord for His wisdom and pray, pray, pray as He leads.

Just so there’s no misunderstanding of my purpose on writing here, if you check out Romans 1:18:32, there are many other sins alongside homosexuality that will also bring a great judgement on the unrighteous on that great and frightful day. Homosexuality is not the unforgivable sin. Please remember, there are no levels of sin – sin is sin. I wrote about that subject here. My purpose is to join with you in prayer and encourage you in that with God, NOTHING IS IMPOSSIBLE!

There is Always Hope! Don’t Give Up!

As I have been praying about this issue, these are the verses that the Lord keeps leading me to:

“The thief comes only in order to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance [to the full, till it overflows].”   John 10:10 (AMP)

“If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.”    2 Chronicles 7:14 (KJV)

“For where two or three are gathered in My name [meeting together as My followers], I am there among them.” Matthew 18:20 (AMP)

“The time is coming when everything that is covered up will be revealed, and all that is secret will be made known to all.”  Luke 12:2 (NLT)

“But whenever someone turns to the Lord, the veil is taken away.”   2 Corinthians 3:16 (NLT)

Suggested prayer:

Father God, we come to You in true humility and we thank you that You know all things. You are our mighty King. We ask that you will intervene in the nation of Australia to bring freedom for the captives and to reveal the plans of the enemy, the devil. We humbly come before You, on behalf of all Australian people, and we ask for Your forgiveness for judging each other and forsaking Your ways. We have given into the lusts of the flesh and we pray that the precious blood of Jesus will wash away these sins. Your Word says that if we, Your people, humble ourselves, seek Your face, and turn from our wicked ways that you will come and heal our land. We ask that You will come and heal our land today.

We pray that whatever is hidden will be brought out into the light, Your Light, especially regarding the consequences of decisions that will be made regarding same-sex marriage. We thank You that You have come, Jesus, to give us life and life abundant. We thank You that we can meet together in Your Name and that You will meet us there also. We pray that every veil of deception that has been placed over the Australian people will be lifted so the Truth can be known.

We stand before You today, Jesus, just as the two spies of long ago did and declare the ‘good report’. We declare that victory shall be Yours. We declare that Australia is a country that seeks Your face and is a shining light to the rest of the world. We declare that Your Name will be glorified throughout the earth because Your Presence resides and rests upon this great land.

Thank You that You have heard our prayers. We praise You and lift You to the highest place, Lord God. May Your great Name be glorified today. In the precious and mighty Name of Jesus, Amen.

Let’s come into agreement together and the Lord will have the victory and that His Name will be glorified in Australia. Please don’t think that ‘someone else will do it’. Stand up and be that someone. The same Spirit that rose Jesus from the dead lives in us, so lets unite together and use that power to bring God’s Glory down to this amazing country of ours.

I know this is a touchy subject but it is one that the Lord wanted me to share about. I am not against gay people in any way. My own personal interpretation of the Word is that this lifestyle is not the best that God had planned for His creation. Jesus died for abundant life. I throw no judgment as that is not my job – I leave that to God Himself. I pray that you will also.
