Whoever you partner with will determine whether you have a limited or a limitless life!
Last week I had a dream. This is not unusual for me but this one stood out in my memory. The Lord was speaking and I needed to listen.
I was standing outside my apartment block. A woman in the unit above me was complaining about the guy she was with. I asked her why she was with him anyway? I also asked if she was going to marry him but she said, “Oh no! I am not qualified to look after his daughter.” ‘What does that have to do with it?’ I thought. She yelled to the guy who lived next to her, “We’ll have to go up higher.”.
I told her that whoever she partners with will determine whether she has a limited or a limitless life.
The dream ended.
This was certainly very fitting and self-explanatory for my own predicament but then I realised how fitting it is for people everywhere.
Whoever you partner with, align yourself with, come into agreement with, are friends with, who you let speak into your life, and who you spend the most time with will inevitably and ultimately have the greatest influence on your life.
Who do you want to be like? Who are your heroes? Who inspires you to live like them? Would you REALLY want to be like them?
Take some time to really think about this.
Who do you hang around?
Do they bring out the best in you? Do they encourage you and lift you up when you are down? Do they inspire you to fly to greater heights?
Again, let me suggest to you to take the time to really ponder these questions. Your answers will give you an indication of where your life is headed.
My amazing husband is a Deputy Principal of a local High School. He deals with difficult students at times and his question is always, “Why do you hang around these guys/girls? Do you really want to be like them in 5 years time?” Of course, the answer usually is, “No.” He then encourages them to find friends who will encourage them on a better path than the one they are currently headed on.
There maybe people in your life that will not want to ‘go up higher’ with you – and that’s ok. Seasons change and friendships change. Would you be willing to let them go so that you can move forward?
The same is true in the spirit realm.
A good indicator to tell you whom you are partnering with – either the Heavenly realm or the demonic realm – is to listen to what comes out of your mouth. Your words are very telling about what is going on inside your heart.
Is your life aligned to the ways of Heaven? Does Jesus and His Word have the most influence in your life today?
What voices are you listening to?
The devil will always bring fear, lack and lies – his biggest tactics. Jesus will always bring love, peace, abundance and truth.
Ask Jesus if there are any lies of the enemy that you could be aligning yourself with. If there are (and there usually is), ask Jesus to reveal what the truth is to you.
Greater Works You Will Do!
“Truly, truly, I say to you, whoever believes in me will also do the works that I do; and greater works than these will he do, because I am going to the Father. Whatever you ask in my name, this I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you ask me anything in my name, I will do it.“ John 14:12-14 (ESV)
Right here, Jesus is giving YOU full permission to do limitless works in His Name.
Think about it. If Jesus healed the sick, cast out demons, multiplied food, and even raised up dead people, then truly there would be nothing limited for you. He has made our lives to have limitless possibilities. It’s not ‘the sky is the limit’, but Heaven is the limit ….. and Heaven is endless!
This is astounding.
“Now all glory to God, who is able, through his mighty power at work within us, to accomplish infinitely more than we might ask or think.“ Ephesians 3:20 (NLT)
Today, are you willing to ‘go up higher’ with Jesus? Are you willing to do greater works?
Are you worried about not being qualified, like the lady in my dream? Remember, in the verse above it says that it is “through HIS mighty power at work within us.” It is God who qualifies you and equips you to DO the greater works.
“Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were uneducated, common men, they were astonished. And they recognized that they had been with Jesus.“ Acts 4:13 (ESV)
Can others recognise in you that you have ‘been with Jesus’? This is what qualifies you – your relationship with Him.
If you align yourself with Jesus today, go up higher with Him and the possibilities in your life will indeed be limitless.
We are living in truly the most exciting days. Live the limitless life of possibilities that you were created to live.
