Are You Prepared to Die? Is There Really Life After Death?

Life can be so incredibly amazing but, have you ever thought about what happens after you die?

Is there life after death? If so, where and what is it?

These is probably silly questions as I think most people would think about this at some time in their lives.

Let’s look at it.

“Come now, you who say, “Today or tomorrow we will go into such and such a town and spend a year there and trade and make a profit”— yet you do not know what tomorrow will bring. What is your life? For you are a mist that appears for a little time and then vanishes.”     James 4:13-14 (ESV)

As I laid in bed one beautiful, sunny Saturday morning, I got a notification on my phone. It was a message letting me know that a beautiful friend’s husband had passed away. What?! He was so healthy, but so very stressed. How could a heart attack happen to him?

As it turns out, very easily. You can be here one moment and not the next. I know this is a bit morbid but the ending can be amazing! Death can happen at ANY time and it WILL happen to everyone. You cannot predict it. A lot of the time it comes without warning.

This episode, again, hit me so dramatically as it reminded me that No. 1. I am getting older but more importantly No. 2. People don’t know that there is a Father God in Heaven who loves them passionately and ferociously! What an incredibly awful thought!

We all, at times, think that we have years and years before we need to think of our own mortality and eternity. The fact is, all our days are numbered and we don’t know when the last number will clock over.

The material things in this life are wonderful but you can’t take them with you when you die. The Egyptian Pharaoh’s thought that their treasures would appease the god’s in the afterlife. The amazing thing is that their treasures have been discovered in the tombs of the pyramids, in this life. They didn’t go anywhere, they are still here.

We are but passing through. We enter this life with nothing and we leave it with nothing. Everything we use in between stays here. It’s an amazing thought.

Romans 3:23 (ESV) says that, “… for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God”. That includes you and that includes me. What can we do about it?

The Way To Heaven.

Romans 10:9 says that “if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.”

Saved from what? Saved from an eternity in hell which is separation from God and His goodness.

I know people who continually joke that they will ‘take over hell’ when they get there. I can assure you, they will have no such luck. As I mentioned in a previous post, I see into the spirit realm at times. I have had a glimpse of hell and what some demons are capable of. It was nothing short of horrifying. In my past, I have seen horror films and this experience surpassed them all.

Jesus says in John 14:6 (ESV),  “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”

God is so kind and loving that He made a way for us to live in Heaven with Him forever. No pain, no sorrow, no grieving, no cleaning (woo hoo), no dust, no darkness – just pure unadulterated joy …… forever, and ever, and ever.

We must understand that EVERY knee WILL bow and EVERY tongue WILL confess that Jesus Christ is Lord. On Judgement Day, ALL of us will have to stand before God and our knees WILL bow and our tongues WILL confess that Jesus is Lord – whether we planned to or not. (Romans 14:11)

God’s Love For You Is Never Ending!

Your Heavenly Father loves you more than you could ever dream or imagine. Jesus died for you so that you could spend this life and the life thereafter with Him and Father God. Could you imagine? Dying for someone because you love them that much? 

That’s exactly what He did for you.

God Does NOT Send You To Hell.

He really doesn’t. The Bible says that you are either for Jesus or against Him (Matthew 12:30). There is no in between. If you choose not to receive His abounding love, grace and forgiveness, and because God can’t let sin into Heaven, you have inadvertently chosen to be without God forever.

However, He has chosen you to be a part of His family and He has made a way for you to be with Him forever through Jesus. All you need to do now is choose Him. You will never find anyone who could ever possibly love you, provide for you or protect you more than Father God. He has such a blessed life for you – divine health, prosperity, favour, meaningful relationships, etc.

God is all about relationship. It’s not a religion. Jesus hates religion too.

Father God wants relationship with YOU! 

How about you do it now, while you still have the chance to make the choice. 

Jesus is our example of how we are to live. If that truly is the case, Jesus lived a life of complete and utter submission to His Father, God. Jesus gave up His life …… just for YOU! He loves you so fiercely that He died so that you didn’t have to go to hell.

I know this a different sort of post but you and me are only able to make this choice while we still have breath in our lungs.

How about you? Will you give up your life for Jesus? We should live nothing short of this – because of all He has done for you and because HE IS WORTH IT!

Please, please, PLEASE don’t leave it until later for later may be too late.

PRAYER:

Thank You, Jesus that You died for me. Thank You that You have chosen me to live my with You. I am sorry that I have ignored You and not lived the way you have planned for me – this is sin. Please forgive me. I receive Your forgiveness and I ask you to lead my life as Lord. I submit to you. Thank You, Jesus.
