Begin Your Transformed Life Today

Do you want a transformed life? My guess is for some of you, the answer will be a resounding “YES!”

I am going to give you one key that will set you on the road to your transformed life. Can you guess what it is?

It’s not money. It’s not your attitude although that is important. It’s not other people ….. it’s something that only you can control.

Have you guessed yet?

It’s right under your nose, or what comes out of it is anyway. That’s right.

It’s your words!

Ugh. Yes I can hear you sigh, “Is that it?” Yes, yes it is.

Like me, I am sure that you have heard many sermons and seen many books on this subject. To be honest, it wasn’t until Holy Spirit gave me a real revelation about the power of words that I actually got the extent to which I have a tremendous advantage over the devil.

We, like God, can create. The devil can’t and He hates that. This a HUGE reason why He hates us – you and me. We, with God, can create. He can only manipulate.

Romans 4:17 says that you, because you believe in God, can speak and bring the dead back to life and create new things out of nothing. This is amazing!

I listened to Shawn Bolz preaching and he was explaining how we are co-creators with God. The above verse confirms this. You, in yourself, can do none of this but we are co-heirs with Christ so therefore, we are co-creators with God. You can accomplish ANYTHING that the Lord has created you to do.

This insight, once realised and appropriated into your life, can truly change you and any given situation that you will face. With God, nothing will be impossible for you.

My Experiment

Let me give you an example. I decided to take these words literally and try an experiment. We had taken some seeds from an organic lemon, froze them for the specified period of time and then planted them in a pot. We were so excited when we saw that they were actually growing! I do not have a green thumb – at all. They grew up after a couple of weeks and it was so very exciting.

Not long afterwards, bugs came and ate big holes in the leaves. I was NOT HAPPY about this fact. So, hence my experiment. If Jesus can curse a fig tree and it dies, I figured since I have the same power within me that Jesus did to raise the dead (Romans 8:11), I could speak life into these plants. So I did. Every time I hung out the clothes in the mornings, I would walk over and speak life and God’s breath (Ezekiel 37:10) into the plants.

There was about a week where it was just too cold and some days were rainy so I didn’t go outside near the plants. On the first sunny day, I went outside and this is what I found: all beautiful new foliage. As you can see from the photo below, the leaves with the holes are still attached to the stem and all the amazing new leaves are at the top.  My experiment worked! I was totally stoked.

Words have immeasurable power! 

“For where two or three are gathered in My name [meeting together as My followers], I am there among them.” Matthew 18:20 (AMP)

When two or more are gathered, to pray, bless others or just to have fun, Jesus is there also. Just this afternoon, the Lord revealed to me a new level of revelation in this verse. Every time I talk with this one particular friend, revelation comes when we talk about God’s Kingdom. Because we talk about the Lord and His ways, He has come to join in the conversation and reveal even deeper levels of truth regarding His Word and His ways. I love it! He really is there with you.

A Warning – Satan Copies

Unfortunately this also works in the reverse.

When 2 or more people meet together and come into agreement while whinging, complaining, gossiping, and slandering others, there Satan’s minions are also. The book “Unmasking the Accuser” by Dr Kynan Bridges is the best book that I have ever read on this subject. If you really struggle in this area as I once did, may I encourage you to read it and ask the Lord to give you the revelation of His heart regarding this.

“And so blessing and cursing come pouring out of the same mouth. Surely, my brothers and sisters, this is not right!”   James 3:10 (NLT)  

Just as God can create through us when we “speak and bring the dead back to life and create new things out of nothing”, Satan can manipulate our words to cause destruction, pain and chaos.

You can create so much just by speaking blessings over yourselves, your loved ones, your situations, and even the people that you really want to whinge about.

Choose your words wisely. There are no neutral words in the spirit realm. Your words will either activate the Kingdom of God or the kingdom of darkness. It’s your choice.

We watched the movie “Paper Planes” today (which is fantastic by the way) and Dylan said to Jason who was acting like a bully, “Jump ahead a few minutes. How do you think this is going to work out for you?” Great advice from a 12 year old boy. Why don’t you try this the next time you want to say something that you know you shouldn’t. Believe me, I am taking my own advice!

But There Is ALWAYS Hope – And His Name Is Jesus!

Now, there is absolutely NO CONDEMNATION from me or from the Lord (Romans 8:1). I have so struggled with this in my past and I dare say there will be times in the future where I will struggle again to keep my mouth shut. The thing that we need to realise is that no sin is so great that it eludes God’s forgiveness.

God is a good, good Father. He is ready to throw the sins of the mouth as far as the east is from the west (Psalm 103:12). Woo hoo! He sent Jesus to die so that His blood would cleanse you of your sin and wash you totally clean. How awesome is that! He also sent Holy Spirit to help you, and me, with self-control of our mouths.

I pray that the Lord will put a guard over my mouth (Psalm 141:3 & Proverbs 13:3) as I only want to speak words that bring life, encouragement and blessings to myself, my surroundings and others. How about you? Will you join me in this prayer daily?

Let us, as Believers be known for our kindness of heart by our words. Let us imitate Jesus and show His love to those around us, even to those who we don’t believe deserve it. We don’t either but His grace covers us too.

Take a step towards your destiny today. It’s totally worth it. You’re totally worth it.
