As a child, I was frightened of a lot of things – and some for very good reason. As an adult, I now realise that the biggest thing that I feared was the dark. To be honest this still occurred until 3 years ago when I had the issue dealt with.
Why the dark? Well, things happened in the dark but the main reason was that I was scared about what I couldn’t see. I wasn’t as scared of people as much as I was scared of what else I knew was there but couldn’t see.
Angels and Demons are Real
Have you ever really thought about it?
The Bible is true. Angels and demons do exist. God exists. Jesus exists. Holy Spirit exists. Heaven is a real place – and so is hell.
GOD IS ALIVE!
The very first time I saw demons was when I was about 18 months old. It might be hard to believe but to this day, I can tell you exactly what the room looked like, where the demons were and what they looked like also. I have seen them ever since but now I have the tools to fight against them so they don’t scare me as much anymore.
I have also seen angels. They are so brilliant with light that it is almost blinding, but it doesn’t hurt to look at them. They come in many sizes and have many different functions and assignments to carry out. Angels are our helpers and protect us many, many times. (Hebrews 1:14). I have felt the very strong presence of my own at a time when demons were trying to hurt me in the physical realm. My angel stepped in front of me and fought off the demon. It was very surreal watching the whole thing unfold.
There are many books written on the subject so I won’t elaborate but the most detailed and interesting book on the spirit realm is the Bible itself. God IS Spirit and this supernatural realm is real – whether you believe it or not.
I have been told numerous times that Christianity is for wimps, it is a crutch for those who are weak as well as many other criticisms. Have you heard these or similar? Having been a Believer for just over 30 years and still being a sponge for knowledge and relationship with Jesus, I chuckle to myself and think, “Well, you haven’t experienced the reality of the Christian life – the spirit realm. There is nothing wimpy about that!”
If you are one of these people, that’s totally ok. No judgement here. However, I do challenge you to ask God to give you ‘eyes to see’ the realm which surrounds you. It is amazing, beautiful, wonderful, powerful.
All Authority is Yours!
There is no need to fear the devil. One of the most amazing aspects to me about Jesus is that He gave you and me the authority to defeat any spiritual enemy that we may come across (Matthew 10:1 & Luke 10:19). We have dominion over every created thing (Genesis 1:26) – except for each other. (A side note: We are NEVER to try to control another person, we are only told to love them (John 15:12). God does not control us and He loves us unconditionally and allows us to make our own decisions.)
As with any new position of authority, you need to learn how to use it.

Over the years, I have been given many tools from the Bible and from experience to fight Satan and his minions and have seen fantastic results. This is not only for me. EVERY person who has a relationship with Jesus Christ has these same tools.
It’s Christmas All Year Round
The tools of the Kingdom of God are like a huge Christmas present.
Imagine with me. You have been given this present for free, it is wrapped and you don’t know what is inside. It’s big, the excitement gets to an all time high and you begin to rip open the paper with intense anticipation. You find a cloak sitting on top of another wrapped box. This is odd. You place the cloak aside, pull out the next box, unwrap it and you see a scroll but it is sitting, you guessed it, on another box. What is going on? Again you pull out the scroll, put it to the side, pull out the next box and continue unwrapping.
This goes on and on in the never ending gift from your Heavenly Father.
- The cloak represents God’s love. “For God so LOVED the world that He gave His only begotten Son.”
This is the very first tool you receive. Nothing is more important than receiving God’s love for yourself. He never holds it back and it is always on offer in great measure.
However, it’s YOU that has to choose it and receive it. This requires an action. He never withholds His love from you.
2. The scroll represents your adoption into God’s family. They are adoption papers.
Just as a child has been adopted into a loving family, whose rights are now those of a biological child, you are adopted into God’s family. You are now entitled to every blessing and gift due to those who now have God as their Father.
There are so many tools and weapons in the Kingdom but these first 2 are the most important, which you will see in forthcoming posts.
If you do not yet know the intense and immeasurable love that God has for you, may I suggest that you ask Him to reveal Himself to you today. He has been with you all of your life. He has never left you, even in the excruciatingly painful times. He didn’t make these things happen but has only wanted to show you His unfailing love and kindness.
Suggested prayer:
“God, I am not sure of who you really are and if you do care about me. However, I choose this day to find out. Please reveal Yourself to me today and show me Your truth. I have heard many things about You but I only want to know the truth. I commit to finding out more about You as the kind and loving God that I want to meet. Thank You God that you have never left me. I now choose to come to You. Amen.”
