What Does God Look Like?

christian life Oct 15, 2019

Have you ever wondered what God looks like? Or maybe what is in the throne room that He abides in?

Have you read the description of the throne room of Heaven in the book of Revelation and thought, “What did the Apostle John actually see?”

Maybe you grew up, like me, with the impression that God is an old man with white hair who sits with a 4 by 2, waiting to hit you upside the head when you did something wrong. I believed this up until last year.

Let me assure you … this couldn’t be further from the truth and is a lie, straight from the pit of hell.

The weird and wonderful experiences described in the Bible are not just for the Apostles of Jesus’ time or the prophets of the Old Testament. They are also for you and me.

They really are!

Let me show you.

“Come up here.”

A friend had asked me join her at a worship and healing night held by a Ministry. It was so amazing and the presence of the Lord was heavy and beautiful.

During worship, I felt the was Lord saying to me, “Come up here.”

I asked what He would like to show me and the Father said, “The throne room”. I humbly asked to see the throne room as it is, not as it has been portrayed in books or on tv.

Immediately, in my mind, I was looking down into the throne room of Heaven. What an incredible sight!

From and aerial view, I could see Father God’s throne and the thrones of the 24 elders, standing tall and mighty. These were all in a large circle. The elders were stretched out, face down on the floor in worship to the Almighty God. There was not one shadow in sight in the entire room – just pure light.

In my early walk with Jesus, I had had a very vivid dream where I had seen into the throne room and the light was so blindingly bright but it wasn’t painful to look at. During this same dream, I also heard “a voice out of heaven like the sound of many waters” (Rev 14:2). It was deafening but it didn’t hurt to listen to it. It was incredible.

(This was what was revealed to me this time. I didn’t see everything else that is mentioned throughout the Bible. We see in only part – 1 Cor 13:12.)

Back to the vision.

The 24 elders were still face down on the floor so I asked Father God what causes the elders to worship – apart from the obvious that He is worthy of it.

Suddenly, I could see the praise and worship coming up from the earth below. It was rising up from the saints adoring the Lord. It honestly looked like rising incense as described in Revelation 8. Each time the worship rose, the Elders fell to the floor in intense adoration of the Lord God.

You see, when you worship in spirit and in truth (as mentioned in John 4:23-24), God emanates pure love.

God’s Pure Love

What does this look like?

Well, in my vision, I was now standing directly in front of Father God. I didn’t see Him as a person but as a Spirit, much larger than me, obviously. Where I imagined his chest to be, there was what looked like a round meteor, with fire moving and swirling around it. It was pulsating and I realised that at certain times it would look as though the fireball would jump out of His chest!

I stood back and watched this incredible sight. (To be honest, I just don’t have words that can express sufficiently this profound experience but I will do my best.)

As the worship, thanksgiving and praise of the saints rose into the throne room, not only did it fill the air with a sweet smelling fragrance, but it caused the Father to have tears of intense joy over and adoration for His precious children. As He listened to the sounds and smelled the sweet fragrances, His heart, which I then realised was the fiery meteor, pulsated and expanded. This huge organ seemed to be releasing something.

As I stepped closer to look, I was overwhelmed to see that His heart was releasing love. Each time He heard the worship, praise and thanksgiving, the Father released His unfailing and passionate love over and back to His children. What joy was in His expression.

Father God’s heart was so happy!

In that very moment, I understood why worship and thanksgiving are so important to us as Believers.

When you worship the Father, or even just say, “Thank You” to Him, He hears it all and it draws out His passionate and fierce love for you.

But that’s not all …

The Secret Place

… I also discovered that right here is where the ‘Secret Place’ resides and this is where no-one or no thing can touch you (Psalm 27:5 and Psalm 31:20).

Right here is where you can be with your Heavenly Father and know His heart and plans for your life.

Right here is where you can share your troubles, your burdens with the One who can truly help you.

Right here, in the Secret Place, is where you can openly and freely share your heart’s desires and dreams, and allow the Father to give you Heavenly strategies on how to bring them to pass.

Do you need answers?

Right here is where you can obtain them all!

Father, You are truly amazing!!

So, how do you get there?

I’ll tell you next week …

… stay tuned.

Jesus made the way so easy that even a child can do it.

I promise. It’s fun.

Have you ever had a Heavenly experience before? Have you maybe thought you have seen into the spirit realm but shrugged it off as your imagination?
I would love to hear about your thoughts and experiences. Please share them in the Comments below. If you have any questions, please ask them also and I’ll answer them the best I can.

Have an amazing week and until then,

Many blessings to you.
