God is elevating women to their rightful place in society!
“God Almighty declares the Word of the gospel with power, and the warring women of Zion deliver its message: “The conquering legions have themselves been conquered. Look at them flee!” Now Zion’s women are left to gather the spoils.” Psalm 68:11-12 (The Passion Translation)
It is NOT a competition between men and women and nor am I a feminist. Men and women are all equal as people but they have different roles to hold and differing jobs to do in life. Men were created to be, but not limited to, a woman’s protector, provider, and to be the spiritual head of the home. The woman is the leader in the home and a helper to the man. Does this mean beneath? Absolutely not! It means alongside and each gender complements the other. Does it mean that a woman cannot be the boss or CEO of a company? Again, absolutely not. The only area that I can find in the Word that a woman is not to be a spiritual head over a man is in the home (Ephesians 5:24) BUT, she is the leader in the home – there is a difference. “She watches over the ways of her household and meets every need they have.” (Proverbs 31:27 TPT). There are many differing forms of this also. More on this in an upcoming post.
Back to my point. It is becoming more evident that God is moving in this area, in the natural realm as well as the supernatural realm.
Every Tuesday, the children and I sit down and watch BTN, “Behind the News”. This is the only news program I watch because I really don’t want all the negative and horrendous news stories in mine or my children’s heads. It was interesting to note how many women’s sports teams are succeeding and moving onto the international scene. I am not into sports at all but I have learnt to take notice of what is going on in the world to see the direction that God is moving in.
The AFL Women’s team, the Women’s Big Bash Leagues, the Australian Rugby 7s team and the Suncorp Super Netball Series are just some of the women’s sports organisations that are surprising the country with their road to prominence. Women have been playing these sports for a long time but now the world is watching.
It’s time to arise.
If God is raising up women in the world, how much more will He cause women to arise in the Kingdom? Right now, I am specifically addressing the women out there – sorry guys, bear with me.
What qualifies you to arise? Total surrender, a willingness to be taught, moulded, and faith to step out and obey the Lord.
The first person to be an evangelist for Christ was a woman – and a woman that had a sordid reputation at that! “Many Samaritans from that town believed in Him because of the woman’s testimony, “He told me all that I ever did.” (John 4:39). Jesus doesn’t care what past you’ve lived, He cares about the future that He has for you.
I have this as part of my signature on my email. I am living proof that this is true.
Matthew 28 says that the soldiers fell down like they were dead when the angel of the Lord appeared to roll the stone away. The angel then addressed the women who were still there. Fantastic! They were given the commission of returning to tell the disciples that Jesus was no longer trapped in the tomb, but that He was alive. Not only that, they were given the honour of being the first ones to see Jesus Himself! What a tremendous privilege!
Jesus was showing the world that He honours women just as much as He honours men, in a culture where this was most certainly not common place. This is why these stories are recorded here for you and me, and the rest of the generations to come, to read them and see what Jesus is like.
We are to honour both men and women, just as Jesus did when He roamed the earth.
The Lord has really been speaking to me about Him doing a ‘new thing’ amongst women and His Bride, the Church.
““Listen carefully, I am about to do a new thing, Now it will spring forth; Will you not be aware of it? I will even put a road in the wilderness, Rivers in the desert.” Isaiah 43:19 (AMP)
I encourage you, no, I passionately urge you, to take up your position as daughter of the King. Seek the face of the Lord. Find out what part YOU have to play in this “new thing”, this new move of God. He is Creator. He is creative and He lives inside of you!
Surrender today. Say, “Here I am. Send me”. Holy Spirit is looking for the women who will raise their hands and say, “Pick me! Pick me!” Don’t worry if you don’t feel ready enough, called enough, talented enough, bold enough, whatever enough. Don’t you think God knows you inside out already? He will give you EVERYTHING you need if you just say, “Yes”.
Just be a willing vessel. Kneel or stand before the Lord and say, “Here I am. I am Yours. Choose me.”
Step out in faith today. This ‘new thing’ has only just begun. Get on board and have the most exciting time of your life!
I would love to hear from you if you have stepped forward, raised your hand and said, “Here I am.” Please let me know in the comments below or via the Contact page.
You are amazing! Never forget that. Read Psalm 139 to remind yourself of what God thinks about you. I’m off to do that right now.
Bless you mighty women (and men) of God.
