You Are A Daughter Of The King!

You Are A Daughter Of The King!

christian life Nov 29, 2017

Do you realise that you were born into a royal line?

Do you understand that you are actually royalty?

As I was driving one of our daughters to her Acrobatics lesson recently, she was watching the movie “Princess Diaries“, starring Anne Hathaway. I bought it for our girls because I wanted them to see that it takes process (don’t you just love that word …. NOT!) to become who Father God has created them to be.

If you haven’t seen it, (warning – here come the spoilers) it’s about a young lady who has only just discovered that she is actually of royal blood. She didn’t have to do anything to get that way. She was born into it. She never knew who her father was but after he passed away, she found out that she is next in line for the throne of a country. She began as an awkward, self-conscious, non-ambitious teen and was transformed, over time, into a confident young woman who was prepared to take on the task of learning how to rule a country.

If you have surrendered your life to Jesus Christ and long to love and obey Him, you are now of royal descent – a daughter or son of the King of all Kings! You may just not realise it.

In the book of Esther,  a young Jewish girl was taken into the palace against her will. Even though these were terrible circumstances, God can use any situation for His benefit. He used the fact that Esther was beautiful and was now possibly going to be picked to go into the king’s court. According to the custom of the time, the queen was not allowed to present herself before the king unless she was first summoned. It certainly made for an interesting marriage.

Esther had to undergo a beautifying a process for 12 months before being ready to meet the King Ahasuerus. (We may think of this as luxurious, which I am sure it was, but remember that Esther had suffered the loss of her parents and had now been ripped away from her uncle. This would have been a difficult time for her.

There was a process in Esther being made ready.

What process are you finding yourself in today?

What is God readying you for?

Do you even know?

God Has A Plan

God has a fantastic plan for your life. I keep seeing 10:10 almost everyday on our clock. It reminds me of John 10:10.

“The thief comes only in order to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance (to the full, till it overflows).”     (AMP)

You might be in the thick of it right now but let me assure you, you can trust that God can lead you through your trial or heartache and use it as a preparation tool for what’s to come. He only has good things planned for you and He is with you every step of the way.

My life has certainly been colourful (in good and bad ways) but I don’t regret any of it. I have learnt so many lessons and to be completely honest, if I had not suffered through my own choices and the decisions of others against me, I would not have compassion for others. I am now able to lend a shoulder and an ear and hopefully bring some comfort to those who are hurting – whether going through the same things or completely different things.

You Are Of A Royal Lineage

In Mark, chapter 5 is the woman with the issue of blood. She suffered at the hands of many physicians. But one day, Jesus is in town. She had heard reports about this man healing people. How excited she must have been to once again have hope. Finally, she had a chance to be healed.

Well that she did. She pushed her way through the crowd (who knew she was unclean but she didn’t care), touched Jesus’ clothing and she was immediately well. The only thing was that Jesus had also realised what had happened. He was calling after her. Now she was terrified! What would become of her? She fell down at his feet and admitted her guilt. What is the very first thing this King says to the woman? DAUGHTER, your faith (your personal trust and confidence in Me) has restored you to health; go in peace and be (permanently) healed from your suffering.” (Mark 5:34 AMP). Woo hoo!

Jesus called her ‘daughter’. Daughter of whom? Who was the father of the faith? Abraham. The ultimate father of course is Father God. Jesus was acknowledging her right to be a daughter in the Kingdom – His Kingdom. Previously she had been an outcast because when a woman was bleeding, she was supposed to stay housebound  until the bleeding stopped (Leviticus 15:19-33). She was unclean. She was not restored to society. No longer could anyone look upon her with condescension and disgust in their eyes. She was now a daughter of the King.

Step Out Today!

Would you take a step today, just as this precious woman did, and reach and touch Jesus’ clothing? Reach toward Him, no matter what state you are in, and allow Him to heal you in the deepest parts of your being. See His face turn towards you and call you ‘daughter’, or son. You are so incredibly precious and special to Him and He is waiting for you with open arms.

You may feel much shame and heartache, anger and disappointment. You may even feel ‘unclean’. You can come to  Jesus. He has broad shoulders. He can handle it.

(On a side note, Jesus would have been a strong man physically. He grew up in his earthly father’s business of a carpenter. A carpenter then is not the same as a carpenter today as there wasn’t much wood around then. Jesus and Joseph actually worked more with stone. He was more of a stonemason than a carpenter. This means he was strong and fit. When I say Jesus has broad and strong shoulders, I am not joking!)

Come to Him …… just as you are and watch what He will do. You are a daughter, or son, of the King.

Take your place in the royal line, go through the process (no matter how gruelling) and receive all that the King has for you.

He is waiting ……..

Many blessings to you my fellow sisters and brothers in Christ,
